There is no question that volunteering strengthens communities.
And back in 1979, that was precisely what families in Geauga County did for women who suffered from abuse.
Women in our community graciously opened their doors to neighbors in need of emergency shelter. From this generosity stemmed WomenSafe, a safe haven for victims of domestic violence. Today, WomenSafe continues to rely on the volunteer efforts of many dedicated individuals.
WomenSafe, Inc. is always in need of more volunteers to provide clerical assistance, support our clients, help plan fundraisers, run the Resale Shoppe, maintain the shelter, organize donations, create content, and much more.

Our volunteer program is flexible and fun. There are opportunities to volunteer from home, as a family, and at the convenience of your individual schedule. If you are looking for an opportunity to give some of your time to a good cause and like to help people, consider volunteering at WomenSafe!

“A former Girl Scout Leader, who was a WomenSafe Board Member, approached me and asked if I could spare some time to help WomenSafe catch up on thank you letters for the organization. I said sure, I’d be happy to help. I started volunteering in June of 2013 and that catch-up job, has lasted for 7 great years! I love volunteering at WomenSafe. Everyone is cheerful, helpful, caring and just great to work with! It has been a challenge going from the Corporate world, where you had everything at your finger tips, to a non profit, where supplies, etc., are limited. I work with a great staff and have been thanked more in the last few years, than in my entire 39 year career.”
