WomenSafe Transitions Leadership

The Board of Trustees at WomenSafe announces that Shayna Jackson has accepted a position as Chief Clinical Officer at Beacon Health. Jackson will be transitioning from her position as Executive Director at WomenSafe over the next few months.

Over Jackson’s tenure, WomenSafe has grown from a small non-profit with three full time employees to a domestic violence resource center providing a full continuum of services to survivors of domestic violence throughout northeast Ohio. Throughout Jackson’s time at WomenSafe, the organization has grown into a new building, opened a Resale Shoppe, and opened a satellite counseling location in Lake County. In addition, the agency has obtained accreditation from CARF International, an independent, non-profit accreditor of health and human service agencies.

Beechmont Country Club Hosts Golf Outing to Support Survivors of Domestic Violence

Tami Kowit and Cindy Goodman have joined forces to plan a benefit golf outing at the exclusive Beechmont Country Club in Beachwood, Ohio. The purpose is to generate support for survivors of domestic violence and increase awareness as to the vital services provided by WomenSafe, Inc. Join us along with Browns players on Monday, June 29, 2015 for a day of golf, lunch, dinner and silent auction. Registration opens at 11:00 am with lunch and golf to follow. Non-golfers can join the event for an evening on the patio including dinner and an exciting auction. Sponsorships are available.

Over 4 million women in the U.S. experience physical violence by an intimate partner every year and 10 million children are exposed to domestic violence each year.
